Hotel Metropolitano

The room and hotel were clean, and the staff seemed friendly, but the shower was cold. We had a few T-shirts and pairs of underwear washed, and were quoted 129k, which was outrageous. Breakfast is served in an enclosed second-floor space with little atmosphere. It would be nicer on the top floor with a view. There’s nowhere else to sit besides your room.

We stayed for two nights. The staff were friendly and patient, though they didn’t speak English, and the bathroom itself was really nice. But the shower didn’t work properly, the safe was broken, and the room was small but clean. Thin walls meant we could hear everything, and corridor cleaning started around 8 in the morning and woke us up. For the price, it’s a decent hotel. About the manager’s reply: water leaked out before it even reached the shower head, so the shower was broken and hadn’t been fixed. It wasn’t a matter of me not speaking Spanish or not knowing how to use it. Blaming the customer is a very poor way to manage things.

Breakfast was a daily highlight during our four nights: eggs made any style, fruit, arepa, toast and jelly, plus juice and coffee. The hotel is comfortable and right in Centro, with taxis all around and everything else within walking distance.

The service was poor, the place wasn’t clean, and the towels were in bad shape. It looks as if the ownership changed and upkeep stopped. These towels are definitely not 15 days new. The sink water wouldn’t drain, and I didn’t have hot water all the time. There’s the poc that has been taking from your place.
