Color Hostel Palomino

The host made fresh soup for my sick wife in the morning and evening, which was lovely. The rooms were clean and had AC, breakfast was excellent, and the pool was lovely. Max, the hostel dog, was lovely too. Would recommend.

We loved the rooms, pool, breakfast, staff, and cats, and would book again. It’s about a six-minute walk to the restaurants and shops, and roughly 25 minutes to the beach, which we thought was overrated. The place isn’t right on the beach or main street, but that’s clear when you book, and I liked being a little away from all the hustle.

We felt genuinely sad to leave. This was the best hostel or hotel we stayed in on our long trip through South America, and the value for money was amazing. Claudia and her team were so kind and hospitable, always making an effort to help and look after us, and the place felt like home. Max, Claudia’s dog, was adorable, and we loved seeing which color bandana he wore each day. The hotel was spotless, the pool area was beautiful, and our room had everything we needed, including a little patio or balcony to sit outside. It’s a relaxing escape about a five-minute walk from the main street, and a great base for exploring Palomino. Breakfast was freshly made each day, with a different spread and even homemade bread. We actually looked forward to it, which is unusual for us. We only had dinner there once, a mistake, because the food was tasty, especially the ceviche. Several couples who had eaten there often told us the other dishes were just as good. We really can’t recommend it enough.

We meant to stay two days and ended up staying a week because it was such a perfect place to relax. Claudia and her team are really kind and welcoming, and helped us many times, including when I was ill. The restaurant is like 5* ++++! Gracias para todos. Clean rooms, good service, lovely people, and a heartwarming atmosphere. We highly recommend it.
