Albura Hotel

It's a clean, small hotel, and the front desk staff are professional and polite. But as a person of color, I felt uncomfortable with the maids who also prepared breakfast. Guests choose from a menu; I ordered ham, eggs, toast, and a milkshake. After 15 minutes, I got scrambled eggs, no ham, and bread toasted on just one side. It felt like they had simply put it together and tossed it onto the table. When I went to the kitchen to explain that I wanted ham with my eggs, the woman opened the door only a quarter of the way. She stared at me silently for about three seconds, said okay, then shut the door. The staff seemed uncomfortable around me. I can't think of another reason for it besides my being Black, though I think they may have been from Eastern Europe and not used to Black people. Looking back, I wish I hadn't eaten there. My stomach was upset later that day. I also wish I'd taken pictures to compare my breakfast with other guests' meals. I checked into plaza doce hotel.
