Ayenda 1139 Castellón Plaza

This was easily the worst hotel stay I’ve ever had. I booked through booking.com at a discounted rate, and felt they put me in the smallest room because of the deal. I had paid for two people or two beds, but got a tiny room with just one bed. Check-in was at 3 p.m. I arrived at 10 a.m. and asked through the booking.com chat if I could get in early, offering to pay extra. The answer was simply no. There were plenty of empty rooms, some already clean, and the cleaner was there, but they wouldn’t accommodate me. I waited around 4-5 hours and was allowed to use the Wi-Fi to work. At 3:30 p.m., after nobody had come to tell me anything, I asked whether my room was ready. There were electricity problems in my room and some others that day. They said it was an area issue. I checked an empty room myself and found that its power worked, but they still wouldn’t move me. I had to wait in the room I’d paid for two nights without electricity. When my laptop battery got low, I sat on a chair in the bathroom of an empty room to plug in and keep working. Eventually the power came back. The Wi-Fi signal in my little back room was weak, so I used my phone as a hotspot. At 7 p.m. I found the bathroom light wasn’t working and called reception. The receptionist first said she’d send someone, then called back to say I’d have to wait until the next day for maintenance. I explained there was no fixture to repair, just a bulb to replace, but she still said to wait. I took the bulb downstairs; they didn’t try to find another one, and the man there also told me to wait until tomorrow. There were several vacant rooms with open doors, so I took a bulb from one of their bathrooms and changed mine myself. My room also had no toilet paper, so I took some from an empty room. The bathroom floor was covered in hair, like it hadn’t been cleaned at all. I went out to get food, and when I came back there were roaches in the bathroom. More were on top of my clothes and bag in the closet, so I moved everything onto the old little fridge. I left the lights on all night and couldn’t sleep. The next day I checked out. They didn’t refund the second night or ask why I was leaving so soon. I’d rather leave than spend another night there, and they never gave me a receipt for my payment.
