The bed and pillows were actually excellent, but the rooms were old, with damaged fixtures, and only almost clean enough. The central air still doesn't work, and management is too cheap to fix it. Advertising air conditioning when they have no intention of providing it should be illegal. The rooms get hot and have circulation, so I slept terribly. There was also a lot of street noise.

Housekeeping was a real bright spot. My room was spotless each day during my seven-night stay, and the team always smiled and seemed ready to help. Room service was exceptional too, with meals arriving on time and consistently high quality. The restaurant and front desk staff didn't show the warmth or attention I'd expect from a place that calls itself four-star. More than once I felt overlooked. One morning, coffee was offered to everyone in the dining room but me. It left me feeling that the usual local customers were favored, which made the stay less welcoming for an international or active traveler like me. Cleanliness and room service were strong, but the guest-facing staff, especially at reception and in the restaurant, need focused training in service etiquette and friendly, inclusive interactions. That would bring the service closer to the hotel's claimed four-star level.

The room was small but clean, and we had trouble with the air conditioning. The staff tried their best to sort it out. The noise is high in this busy city, so be prepared, though that's not the hotel's fault. We could also hear other rooms quite clearly through the vent, and hallway sounds carried loudly into our room. The people working there were the best part. Everyone was nice and as helpful as they could be. The breakfast buffet had good options, and the wait staff were very attentive.

The staff were mostly friendly, but one woman at the front desk kept us waiting for five minutes while she took a personal call instead of helping. We knew it was personal because my wife is Colombian and speaks fluent Spanish, and after five years in Colombia my Spanish is decent too. The hotel was okay-ish apart from that. Breakfast wasn't great, just the most basic sort you'd get at a hostel. We booked partly because so many comments praised the beds, especially since one of us has a bad back. That wasn't our experience. The mattresses felt very old, with dents from years of use. We couldn't change the aircon temperature. It was set to 23°C; even after we lowered it to 19°C, it stayed at 23.5°C. We asked someone to fix it, but sadly nobody came. As a keen traveler who's visited over 79 countries, I expect a certain level of comfort and service from a four-star hotel. This definitely isn't four-star; I'd barely give it three. Needless to say, we won't be back.
