Pradomar

We’ve made Hotel Pradomar a regular family stop whenever we visit colombia, usually getting a day pass to spend the afternoon on the beach and enjoy the scenery and service. This visit on a quiet Tuesday around midday was a letdown, and it spoiled that tradition. The servers seemed more interested in chatting with each other than helping customers. We had to leave the beach and flag someone down each time we wanted to order, while our “assigned Server” only appeared to bring what we’d ordered. Eventually we got the bill and left, since it was almost impossible to order anything else.

The location is unbeatable and the staff are fine, but some rooms need refurbishing. Some are also very noisy, and the internet connection is extremely poor, when there’s any connection at all.

The pool and beach beds are nice extras, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I stayed a few days in early July. The rooms are lovely, but the water pressure is very weak, and the air conditioning didn’t work even when set to 17C. You have to ask for daily cleaning; the staff were in and out within ten minutes. The floor was dirty when I arrived and stayed that way throughout. For the price, it wasn’t bad if you’re after a relaxed holiday by the water.

We used to love coming here, but it feels like it’s changed into a more expensive place. The beach food cost 80 mil pesos per plate and arrived cold, even after we sent it back once. I’m allergic to peas, and the waitress said there weren’t any in the dish, though we could clearly see them in the picture. The men’s bathroom floor was covered in piss and disgusting.
