Hotel Samai

The owner Paola gave us honest information about the area and which route to take on our way to Ecuador. My partner and I found the hotel comfortable and economical, and we’d stay again. They let us park our motorbikes under the lobby stairs overnight, and the kitchen and eating areas on both the lower and upper floors make it very good value. We recommend it to travellers, especially those travelling by motorbike 👌

The suite is gorgeous and the location is central. The mattress could be better, but it’s fine for a short stay.

Paola, the owner, welcomed motorcycle riders and let us park in her entrance. The hotel and room decor are modern, everything is clean, the beds are comfortable, and there are lots of pillows and fluffy white towels. It’s a great location for walking everywhere. Our bathroom, #303, was tiny, barely big enough to sit in, and there was no hot water in it. There’s a shared kitchen and a place to hang laundry on the 4th floor. Paola organizes tours and is quite insistent that you take one. I didn’t go, but my husband did.

The owner was very friendly and accommodating, and the central location puts you close to everything. After 9 PM it was fairly quiet. I spent one night here and was very satisfied for the price: nice room, comfortable bed, and a hot shower. I’ll stay again.
