Hotel El Dorado

The hotel has been beautifully remodeled and is very clean. Great location and entertainment.

The location was good, and getting three towels, two for bathing and one for the beach, was a plus. But reception service was unacceptable, and the all-inclusive food was very poor. The bread seemed days old, which felt especially bad even for Colombia. The bar had few options and poor quality, and the minibar was empty. There was no information about emergencies or even how to contact reception. They have two restaurants, but one was mostly closed. In July 2025, the property was under construction, with maintenance work visible and audible even at lunchtime. A taxi from the airport cost 23000 pesso Colombiano.

The room didn’t feel hotel quality, and there was no coffee machine. There was a sign saying not to drink the water, and no smoke detector in the room. The food was edible, but nowhere near what I expected for the price. Noise was incredibly loud at night, once continuing until 6:30 AM, and the place needs a lot of work. The bathroom window wouldn’t close, so people walking past outside could see in. The shower door was broken, there was no hot water, and the old taps were loose. The TV wasn’t smart, and the WiFi was useless. I won’t be back.

The location is very good, the bedding was amazing, and I slept well. Housekeeping did a fabulous job, and the small room was comfortable and very clean. The food was pretty good too. But there was no WiFi in the room, and the front desk women were very rude. They still list free massages and other services they no longer offer. The bartender making the free cocktails wasn’t very good, and the front desk woke us at 8 in the morning on Sunday to offer taxi service. That was really rude.
