Hotel Isla Bonita Boutique

Hotel Isla Bonita has been my favorite hotel or motel out of the hundreds I’ve stayed in around the world. The staff are really friendly, and they provide rides to and from the city center, which saves money. My room and bathroom were in great shape and felt high quality. I was glad to find hot water in San Andres, too. After a hot day, the cool pool is perfect. The food was good every time, and there’s a shop across the road for a quick snack or drink. I’d definitely come back, 10/10.

There’s no food service at the hotel if you arrive in the evening, and there aren’t places to eat or other amenities nearby. For a snack, you have to cross the road to the supermarket, where a large speaker plays loud music late into the night. Some key details aren’t made clear when booking: there’s no warm or hot running water, the Wi-Fi doesn’t work in some rooms, and I found the breakfast inedible. They woke me in the middle of the night after forgetting to charge my card. If you leave early and arrange a refund, make sure it’s confirmed and processed before you go. Otherwise, they may tell you one thing and take it back once you’ve left the island.

Wi-Fi reaches across the street to the grocery store, where people who aren’t even guests can connect, but it doesn’t work in rooms 200, 201, 202, and plenty of others. Breakfast ends a little too early.

It’s a nice, very clean place, and the food is good. Each room has a safe. Just wish the Wi-Fi reached the rooms instead of only the lobby. The airport is about 20 minutes away.
