The sheets gave me the worst itch I’ve ever had, like a hundred mosquitoes biting all over at once. I’d never had a bad hotel experience before, but this was the first. There was no water in my room for washing my hands or showering, which was completely irresponsible of the hotel. In the morning, the woman said she’d call someone about it, but I couldn’t wait, so I asked to shower in another room. It was still under construction, and the lights didn’t work, so I showered in the dark. I left in a rush and booked somewhere else right away. I’m traumatized by that hotel. Stay away, and don’t be cheap!

The pictures are misleading. My room had no balcony, and the stairs leading to it were steep and really unsafe. Getting in and out of the shower was also dangerous, with a half wall taller than the toilet. The elevator to the 8th floor broke on the first day and took two days to repair. There’s no restaurant or gym. There is a shared room for everyone staying on the 8th floor, with a kitchen, TV, and balcony.

Water was coming into the rooms like it was raining. There was nobody at reception, and the stove had no gas. Really pathetic. Avoid it if you can.

The location right on San Andrés’ main beach is hard to beat, and the communal dining area has a spectacular view. Some rooms also have balconies and ocean views. Chirli deserves a special mention: she was super friendly, attentive, and helpful, and made us feel comfortable and well looked after the whole time. We’d definitely return.
