Hotel Molino De Viento

The staff are very nice, but this is a basic hotel and I thought the price was a bit high for the quality. There was no shower head in our room, so I bought one at a local hardware store to make showering more comfortable. There’s no hot water either. People party on the beach right in front of the hotel, so it’s a poor choice if you’re a light sleeper. We asked to extend our stay and were told no rooms were available, but at checkout they said we could stay after all. By then we’d packed and had reservations elsewhere. Checkout is at 1 pm and check-in at 4 pm.

The staff were awesome and really helpful, and for the price, staying right in front of the beach is definitely worth it. Just know it gets very loud late into the night. If you’re a light sleeper or need to be up early for scuba diving, I wouldn’t recommend it.

I’d stay here again. I was there for one night, and the service and attention were excellent. My small room was very clean, with a good-sized fridge, great air conditioning and a hot shower. It’s right on the beach and next to shops and restaurants.

Helpful, pleasant staff, and being across from the beach for well under $100 a night made the difference in the end. We paid more than expected because of the currency exchange timing, but once I thought about it, it seemed silly to dwell on it. I’d go back. We did have hot water, and someone who said they had no showerhead may have been using ours! You don’t really need hot water anyway. One side note, if you’re going to San Andres and like a less commercial feel, I’d highly recommend Isla de Providencia.
