We loved the comfortable bed and the location, and the room was spacious and clean. Staff were very friendly. The electric shower head was a widow-maker: to get any warm water, the tap had to be almost off, and the spray holes shot water in so many directions that we had to run around the shower to get wet. Church bells rang all night, so try for a back room if you can.

We shared a private room with a bathroom, and the facilities, breakfast, and host's recommendations and help were all 10/10. Even the price made it better. Easily one of the best stays we've had in Colombia, and we'd come back anytime.

Ivan was an amazing host, so welcoming and helpful. The breakfasts were great, and there's a nice living room and a terrace with a hammock. A great place to stay in San Gil.

I wouldn't recommend this hostel. They said there was hot water, but that wasn't true. They also said they had cable, but it was only national and religious channels. If you want to sleep in during the morning, this isn't the place: the Catholic church next door starts ringing its bell at 5 am. They had no bottled water when I wanted to buy some, and still had none in the morning when I asked to pay for a bottle. To shower, they gave me a large bowl of warm water instead. This was the worst place I've ever stayed. They aren't honest.

After all the activities in San Gil, Ivan's place is a very nice spot to return to. He's friendly and helps with whatever you need, and serves the best breakfast. Would totally recommend!
