Hotel Castillo Resort

Our family had a great time here, and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone visiting San Gil with kids. The pool is beautiful, with slides and separate areas for adults and children, and there's a little castle for kids to play in. The restaurant was delicious. Jessenia was so nice as our waitress, and Josue at the book encounter was polite and professional. The hotel has a great river view from its balcony and a zipline course to try. It's also just minutes from kayaking, bungee jumping, paragliding, and atving. Magnificent place, 10 out of 10.

The location is convenient for exploring sangil and the surrounding area, and it's very close to "El Puente" Mall. The rooms are comfortable and big. Nice hotel.

It's a family hotel, and I'd recommend bringing the kids since they'll have lots of fun. Booking was easy, the rooms were clean, and customer service was good.

June 3-6 2019. They call this place a Resort, but don't be fooled. The photo shows a dirty lobby toilet with no seat. The hotel had no hot water. A front desk clerk told me the system was broken, but the hotel had no guests and, in my view, they simply didn't want to turn it on. My sister in another room couldn't shower for 2 days. Whenever we wanted to shower, we had to go downstairs and ask. It took four trips to the front desk. After standing naked in the bathroom waiting, then getting dressed to go downstairs again, I was upset. I must have wasted 1000 gallons of water waiting for it to heat up. There was no hot water at the bathroom sink either, and no hot water pipes. The room had only two small towels, no phone, and no furniture besides the bed, two little tables, and a small chair. The hotel was under constant construction and unfinished, with lots of broken things. Restaurant service was really slow and there was no menu. We waited 45 minutes for lunch and 30 minutes for breakfast the next day. I gave it one star only because of the location, otherwise I would have given it none. The guy below is rude and a liar, and first of all, he is NOT the owner. The owner should have the balls to answer for this. They should tell guests there will NOT be hot water instead of claiming the system is broken. This hotel owner doesn't care about guests, and the front desk person is a liar, as I said.
