Arisuan Hotel

The food was delicious, and the rooms were comfortable in this quiet place. The elevator wasn't working.

The pool was dirty and needs maintenance. Loose and broken tiles on the floor and walls could cut guests, which makes the pool area feel unsafe. There were no drinks available, not even water or soda, and the lobby refrigerators weren't stocked. The reception and maintenance staff also weren't attentive or courteous. For a four-star hotel, the rooms were missing TVs and phone service, the showers had weak water pressure, and there were dampness problems. Wi-Fi only worked in some areas, and cell service in the municipality is terrible with some providers. The booking included breakfast only, but being far from the commercial area makes the lack of a restaurant a problem for lunch and dinner. Valledupar is an hour away, and transportation there is expensive.

The hotel itself is lovely, though the pool could be cleaner. I also wish the information had been better. I asked the receptionist a couple of casual questions and got, “I don't know. I'm doing an internship, and I'm leaving.” He didn't know the prices, and they only had about three products.

I ended up leaving because the rooms were so appallingly dirty. I asked to switch rooms, but both bathrooms were dirty and the showers hadn't been cleaned. I have photos and evidence. The elevator was out of service too, and damp leaks marked the room walls. They need to invest in the facilities and cleanliness. A very bad experience.
