Hotel Abitti

The rooftop beach views were great, and I had no complaints about the facilities. I also really liked the hospitality. Everyone was kind and always ready to help. The road getting there wasn’t great, but that’s just Taganga’s streets.

The outdoor area is pleasant, but the rooms are really low quality. They might have been fine in a backpacker hostel, but this is one of the most expensive hotels in Taganga. Music from the pool area was extremely loud, and I could hear it in my room when I was trying to sleep. Service wasn’t great, although the employees did their best. Since the hotel is new, maybe service will improve with time. @Abitti, please stop promoting boat tours to Tayrona. At least warn customers that they can be very dangerous in the windy season and suggest land tours instead.

The pool area was good, but the rest of the room had a long list of problems: no hot water, a bathroom door that barely shut, tape filling gaps in the walls, a clogged shower drain, and a smelly sink and toilet. There were no surfaces or hooks for our things, the blanket had only its inner lining and no cover, and there was no room service. Music by the pool was very loud in the rooms too, including at night. The receptionist also recommended a boat trip with a local company to the Tayrona beaches without warning us about any possible danger. We went anyway, and it was a horrible ride. It was a small fishing boat, and the waves got huge once we left the bay. It felt painful on my back and uncomfortable because the boat kept dropping from heights it wasn't suited for. We felt very unsafe and thought it could flip at any moment, so we decided to return by land. Two days later, one of those fishing boats from Santa Marta, run by a different company, took the same route and overturned in the high waves. Two women died.

The nearby places played loud music, which was the one thing I didn’t enjoy. Aside from that, I loved the hospitality and thought it was a nice place.
