Hotel Beyonda

We spent Christmas with our family at Hotel Beyonda, and couldn’t have asked for a better stay. The owners made us feel welcome and at home, while the whole team was kind, helpful, and happy to organize things for us. They also gave us plenty of privacy. The place is peaceful and feels magical. Every meal, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, tasted amazing and was made with care and creativity. The drinks were delicious, the showers were hot, and the beds were very comfortable. Such a special place, and honestly one I’d recommend to anyone. We’ll definitely come back next trip.

This is a local experience in the middle of nature, not a luxury hotel, and it’s great value for money. The place is peaceful, the staff are friendly, and there’s a lovely sunset viewpoint at the top of the house. It also had the best and biggest swimming pool we saw in Colombia.

The hospitality is what really sets this place apart. There’s always someone around for a chat, but the grounds are so big that even with the hotel full, you can easily find a quiet corner. It has the social feel of a hostel, the comfort of a posh hotel, and the welcome of a homestay. The pool and its views are great, and the rooms are beautiful, with hot showers. The drive from Santa Marta is short, and the surrounding area is lovely too. One of the most amazing places I’ve stayed.

The hosts care deeply about this place and put so much effort into making guests feel welcome. The whole crew works tirelessly, and it’s easy to feel like part of their family. The property has a beautiful view, especially from “the loft,” and the bedrooms use distinctive materials, mostly sourced from the property itself. Everything seems to have a story. I spent two weeks travelling Columbia with my son and his girlfriend, and this was the best bed I slept in. There was plenty of hot water, and the swimming pool was divine. Hotel Beyonda is only 20 minutes from the Centre of Santa Marta, but feels like a special escape, with thoughtful design throughout. I can’t praise the place and its location enough. I’m returning to Columbia in 2021 and won’t hesitate to book a longer stay. Thanks for a memorable experience, guys. See you again, Greg Lund.
