Hotel Boutique El Olimpo

I prepaid through Trip.com, but the hotel refused to honor my reservation and said they only accept bookings through Booking.com. That was unacceptable and unprofessional. Avoid this place if you need reliable service.

We left and won't be coming back. Parking isn't free, and the breakfast they said was included had no coffee. To start with, I'd booked through booking for $44 and arrived with a confirmation number, only to be told there were no rooms. After a short, unpleasant exchange, a cancellation had magically appeared. It was late on a Friday, so we were stuck, and the room we got cost $77 and was far below what we'd requested.

We arrived at the hotel at night at the estimated time we had sent, but there was no room for us. They said our booking had been cancelled as a “no show,” even though we had not agreed to cancel. We'd booked through booking.com with either “pay at this property” or “pay now,” yet they asked us to pay in advance through a different website. We didn't notice that request and didn't pay, since it hadn't been agreed beforehand, went against the contract, and was in Spanish. Awful service.

The location is excellent, away from the noisy party area. There was a jacuzzi, breakfast, and clean rooms with hot water. Everyone was friendly, from the owner and reception staff to the kitchen and maintenance teams. I met them all, and it was a pleasure staying there.
