La Casa Del Piano Hotel Boutique by Xarm Hotels

The rooftop pool was the whole reason my boyfriend and I chose this boutique hotel. On arrival, the receptionist said their pool was out of order and we’d have to walk five minutes to another hotel to use one. Since the pool takes up most of the pictures on sites like Expedia, they really should mention when it’s unavailable. There’s also a dog a block away that can be heard barking all night. The staff were incredibly friendly and helped us with everything, including arranging a shuttle back to Barranquilla. That’s the reason I’m giving it any stars.

The staff were awesome and spoke English, but the hotel charges like a four-star place without living up to it. The pool area was really sad and dirty, and the rooms were alright, just not at the level they seem to aim for. Tours, cocktails, and pretty much everything else cost much more than at a place just one block down the street. It tries to be more than it is, and charges accordingly. I can’t recommend staying here when Santa Marta has so many better options.

The location is perfect, though some of the money spent on the infrastructure feels overdone. Cleanliness was so-so. Sandra at the desk is smart and good at her job, but unfortunately she can’t be there around the clock.

A clean, stylish hotel. It’s a small place, which actually makes the rooftop pool even better.
