La Puerta Azul

It's a small hostel, but it has what you need. When there was a problem with the laundry in our room, they moved us to a huge suite at no extra cost. It was probably the biggest room we had on our trip, with its own kitchen, bathroom, balcony, and living room. The location was a big plus too, about five minutes from the tourist center.

A pretty nice place, and it wasn't too busy or noisy. Like at almost every hostel in colombia, though, the windows don't open for fresh air. There is AC, a clean kitchen, and a jacuzzi.

We really enjoyed staying here. The rooms are HUGE, and the common area is lovely. I especially liked the pool and the little private terrace.

While I was in a taxi heading to the hotel, my room reservation was cancelled for that same day. The owner said it had been double-booked and that the whole house had been rented on Airbnb, which meant I was out of luck. He called it an accident, but I doubt it. I don't think this kind of thing happens when someone is doing their job well. If you don't want your plans to fall through, I'd strongly recommend staying somewhere else.
