It was easy to get to Villavieja and the Tatacoa desert from the hotel. The staff were friendly and made us feel at home the whole time, and having our own small pool was a great way to cool off. We especially loved the hospitality and the food at El Shaddai. It was top-notch, one of the best meals of our trip.

We spent three nights at El Shaddai and really enjoyed it. The owner was very welcoming, and the meals he made were the best. Breakfast each morning came with fresh juice and fruit, coffee, eggs, and a side dish. Our room was very clean, and they offered to clean it every day. Having our own pool right in front of the room, available 24 hours, was great. The hotel can also provide a guide for exploring the Tatacao Dessert. We went with Joe and can’t recommend him enough. The owner doesn’t speak English, but Google Translate made it easy to have a good conversation. We’d definitely come back.

Everything was so fresh, and the staff were really nice. We had an AMAZING meal here. They even picked a yuca fresh from the garden and fried it for us. Best restaurant in town for sure!

We loved this place and will return. The rooms are beautiful and have private pools, and the cocktails are worth trying. I’d especially recommend the rabbit and their “Chuletón.” Juan and Rafa were the best hosts, super helpful throughout. This was the best experience near the Tatacoa desert, a must-stop on your trip.
