The setting is beautiful, the food is good, and the staff are really friendly. We booked 3 nights, and I wish we could've stayed a little longer.

The food was tasty, with a distinctly Colombian feel, and the pool was extra clean. We had a relaxing stay and the service was outstanding. From Bogota, the drive takes about two hours. I’d set off before 8 am, stop for breakfast in La Vega for an hour, then drive the remaining hour.

Rain can make getting to HFL really difficult. The access road is dirt, and a mudslide blocked it, cutting our stay short by a day and forcing us to find somewhere else to stay. Even after heavy machinery partly cleared the way, our group had to pay for 4x4 rides both to and from the site.

The food was tasty, and the service was high quality. I could speak with staff in both English and Spanish, which I appreciated. It’s also pretty close to Villeta. I loved it.
