Holiday Inn Express San Jose Costa Rica Airport by IHG

For the price, this place is worth it. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. We had a quick, convenient ride to and from the airport on the hotel shuttle. Breakfast was great for a hotel, and it started early enough for us to grab a bite before heading to the airport.

We only planned to stay one night after landing late, then leave San Jose the next morning, so we’d booked something cheap. Instead, we had an amazing stay and could have spent our whole trip based here. The rooms are spacious and very clean, with such comfortable beds, and the complimentary breakfast in the morning was amazing. The shuttle was waiting when we landed, and it was only a three minute drive to the hotel. The staff were a highlight, so friendly and helpful. I’d definitely come back, maybe for a few nights as a home base.

The hotel is clean, very close to the airport, and has a free shuttle every 20 minutes. There’s a Denny’s, casino, and car rental place in the same plaza. We had a shuttle booked through a third party cancelled just 15 minutes before departure when we were checking out. The hotel got us a private shuttle within an hour for only a little more than the shared ride would have cost, and we reached our destination before the original booking would have. The manager or associate at the desk around 7-8am on February 15th was very helpful. Thank you.

The staff were friendly, helpful, and welcoming throughout, and they even went out of their way to arrange transportation for our last-minute tour. The location is ideal, extremely close to the airport and about 15 minutes from the city center. There are also three dining options within easy walking distance, which was handy. It was a comfortable, stress-free stay, just what you’d expect from a Holiday Inn Express: clean and efficient. Breakfast was a nice surprise, more elaborate than the usual Holiday Inn Express offering, which made it fun and memorable.
