The hiking trails through the trees were full of birds, and the game room gave both kids and adults somewhere fun to get out of the sun. We had a great stay and would happily return. The clean pool area had plenty of places to sit, and the restaurant served delicious meals and drinks at breakfast and dinner. Our room was clean, with all the bathroom essentials, and the gated property had plenty of parking. It’s conveniently placed for the airport or for heading into the mountains for activities and tours. The staff were friendly and welcoming.

I travel to and from Costa Rica regularly, and have found a peaceful place to stay before and after my three hour trip to Lake Arenal, which is a slice of heaven itself. This hidden gem was just what I expected and more. The room details were lovely, and the staff made the stay exceptional. I booked at the last minute and they accommodated me without a problem. The food is freshly prepared through their own farm to table experience. There are fabulous choices for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, plus happy hour with unique, delicious drinks.

We stayed just one night, but they let us hang around the property all day after checkout because we had a red eye flight. The trails behind the property were a big plus, with lots of really nice bird species, including some uncommon in the city. We ate four meals at the excellent restaurant and couldn't believe the value. The pool, pool table, pool bathroom and shower, and lounge area with couches, chairs, and charging outlets made it easy to spend the day. The rooms were basic but very clean, with comfortable firm beds and strong AC. I’d definitely stay again when flying into or out of San Jose Airport.

We only had one night here before our flight home and wished we could've stayed longer. The grounds and gardens were beautiful, with lots of wildlife. The rooms were lovely, and the on-site restaurant was beautiful too. The food and staff were lovely. Highly recommend it near San Jose.

Villa San Ignacio and Restaurante Pandora have been our first and last stop on our last two trips to Costa Rica. It’s close to the airport but outside town, and a wonderful spot for birding. The food is great, and the staff are super friendly. I wanted to recommend a stay there to anyone visiting Costa Rica.
