Casa Donna Rosa B&B

We loved the small community feel of Nuevo Arenal, about 50 minutes from Fortuna. It was easy to get to tours and activities, while still feeling tucked away from it all. My sister and I came over from London for two weeks and spent three nights here. Carlos and Werner were wonderful hosts and nothing was too much trouble. Carlos booked our activities and trips and suggested some great local places to eat. Breakfast was home-cooked and different every day, so we looked forward to each surprise. The B&B itself was outstanding: plenty of parking, roomy, spotless rooms, kitchenettes, good bathrooms, very comfortable beds, and lovely linens. We’d return in an instant and highly recommend it if you want quieter evenings away from crowds. Thank you, Carlos and Werner, for such a lovely first impression of this beautiful country. I rarely leave reviews unless something is exceptionally good or bad. I have a hospitality management degree and spent many years managing vacation rentals in the US, and these folks really have an A+ property. 100 out of 100, every detail taken care of. If you’re staying in Nuevo Arenal, this is the place. There’s hot water, A.C., clean towels, toiletries, and an excellent breakfast. It’s quiet without city traffic, but still close to the main road.

Our dream vacation got even dreamier here. Every morning Carlos and Werner made us gourmet breakfasts, and their nearby activity recommendations were great. We stayed in the lovely Royal Coop suite, overlooking a “mini jungle.” The birds put on a show and fed right from the porch rail every day. The food, atmosphere, views, and hosts were all wonderful. Thank you so much for going above and beyond in every way!

Before we left, we’d already booked the trip again for next year. Werner and Carlos were great hosts with lots of local knowledge. They helped organize day trips before we arrived and gave us excellent advice during the visit. The breakfasts changed each day, were delicious, and accommodated my friend’s food allergy. I can’t say enough good things about our first experience here.
