The staff at the westin reserva conchal were wonderful and attentive to what we needed, and the stay was a great experience. For excursions, we booked three with ERIK GARCIA, the one wearing the blue Google shirt. They were all wonderful, from seeing frogs and waterfalls to bridges and hot springs. We even got to try authentic Costa rican food. I highly recommend him.

It’s sad to see a place that used to feel so special lose what made it unique. We’ve been coming to Reserva Conchal for several years and always loved its peaceful beach, but this year was a huge disappointment. Jet skis now run back and forth all day very close to swimmers and other beachgoers. The constant engine noise has changed the calm, relaxing experience and made the beach feel unsafe. We raised it with resort staff, who said there was nothing they could do and pointed to outside authorities. Whoever is responsible, the beach experience has changed for the worse. We’re now hesitant to recommend Reserva Conchal to friends the way we used to.

For what we paid, the round fell short. My wife and I spent $600, and she had to rent clubs and buy a $90 polo because her golf dress had no collar. The course is well maintained and one of the few golf options in Guanacaste, and the pro shop staff were kind, but that was about the extent of the service. The layout feels disjointed, with some holes cramped as though space was an afterthought. Reaching the first tee takes a 10-minute drive that cuts through the 18th hole, while the finishing hole goes away from the clubhouse. That felt counterintuitive.

There was plenty of wildlife around the course, one of the highlights of our visit, and Playa Conchal is a beautiful area. The staff were friendly and helpful, the rental clubs were good quality and fun to use, and the course itself was lovely. It has challenging greens, well-maintained fairways, and a design I enjoyed.

The course was in great shape and played well, and the golf carts were great, with GPS to help your game and cold water on board. The grounds staff were polite and respectful, and course maintenance was amazing. The Golf Centre team were incredible, as were the Pro Shop staff, and the shop was well equipped. Thanks to Pablo for building such a great environment and training the team so well. Kudos! We’ll definitely come back and send hotel guests your way with pre-approved visitor tee-times.
