Lilan Nature, Modern House N°2, private swimming pool

Playing tennis with the soft sounds of the jungle around you was such a treat. The private tennis court was a lovely surprise, since we’d focused so much on nature while planning that we hadn’t even noticed it was there. My husband and I are so glad we chose Lilan Nature for a nature getaway. There’s beach, jungle, and peace, and the B&B has a gracious host and lots to offer. We’ll be back next year. We’ve stayed at Lilan Nature on three different vacations, and can’t wait to go again. It’s our family’s favorite place to unwind and enjoy Costa Rica’s peace. Antonio is a thoughtful owner, and after our first visit we considered him a friend. The property is first class, and so is he.

The yard is beautiful, but it doesn’t make up for the rest of the house. This was a poor place to stay, and it was clear it hadn’t been cleaned between guests. The floors and couch pillows were dirty, which made me wonder what else had been missed if the obvious things weren’t clean. The website gave a misleading impression. There was no TV, the Wi-Fi was weak, and there was no beach access. We also didn’t have face towels, dish soap, or detergent. The common area only has ceiling fans, mounted so high they were almost useless, making it unbearable at certain times of day. The mattresses were unbelievably uncomfortable, hard as rocks. After more than a week, sleeping on a rock might have felt better. If you want luxury, this definitely isn’t it. I can’t say it enough: don’t rent this place.

Antonio is a fantastic host, and the place is impeccable. The garden is marvelous, and there’s a great swimming pool and tennis court. We highly recommend Lilan Nature and will certainly return.
