Hotel Rustico Santa Teresa

Lovely staff, and the front desk team was super helpful. The rooms are okay, though you can tell they’re a bit aged, and I had an issue with the AC. It’s quite close to the beach, and you can rent a surfboard there, which makes it a perfect spot. :)

Very clean, safe space, and the people were kind. Santa Teresa is noisy, though, and this hotel sits on the only road through town, so you hear every motorcycle and 4x4 loudly. Our small room at the front faced the street and felt like a cage. With our luggage inside, we only had about two or three feet of space to move around, and sleeping was difficult. David kindly found us another space for much of our stay, which helped a lot.

The location is as close to the beach as you can get without being right on it, and renting a surfboard through them made things easy. We stayed in the balcony room with our young children. The kitchenette was functional and well stocked, and breakfast was included, delicious, and suited the kids too. Having a high chair was a nice family-friendly touch. Michael gave us especially efficient, friendly service at most breakfasts. They also let us order food from the restaurant to our room on evenings when dinner with the kids there felt too difficult. We’d stay again. :)

The room was clean but so small and uncomfortable. It had bunk beds and just a sink, with no vanity. The worst part came around noon on our second day, after we’d paid for two days: the host told us we had to leave because they’d rented the room to someone for three days on bookings. I said we’d already paid and that wasn’t right. I understand three days brings in more money, but it wasn’t ethical. The only offer was a refund for that day, which was pointless since we weren’t staying. I’ll never stay there again, and I’d advise looking for a more spacious and more ethical hotel.
