The staff at Nicuesa were so kind and helpful, and that’s where much of the magic came from. Oscar, our guide, was a genius and such a great hang. Over four nights, he led us through different activities and tours, including a dolphin trip, a night hike in the jungle, and a waterfall hike. Every one felt special. We loved the healthy, delicious food, the birdwatching, and the magical beach. Being surrounded by nature at Nicuesa Rainforest Lodge made us feel deeply connected to the natural world. Leaving was hard, and we’ll always look back fondly on our time there. Thank you to the Nicuesa team. We appreciate you! From Miron and Scarlett

The staff are what make Playa Nicuesa so special. The setting and amenities are great too, and I took several of the lodge’s tours. Every one was amazing. The team was accommodating and helped with most of my requests. What an incredible stay.

My family of four, all adults, stayed for three nights in December, and none of us wanted to go home. The food was wonderful, the rooms were great, and everyone on staff was friendly and accommodating. My daughter has a mild food allergy, which they handled easily. They also made sure to talk through the ingredients in the meal options with her. We hope we can return someday.

We spent 10 nights here and loved the peaceful feel of the place. Being in the middle of a rainforest, with access only by boat, was a big part of the appeal. Our cabin was comfortable and very private. There was a guided outing every morning, from dolphin watching and snorkeling to kayaking and rainforest walks. The guides knew a lot, and we saw so much wildlife. When we weren’t out exploring, we relaxed on the beach beneath trees or canopies, or snorkeled around the pier. My partner also enjoyed two yoga classes and a Thai massage. The open upstairs bar and dining room made a nice place to spend time, and the main lodge had pretty good Wi-Fi. Birds and monkeys were visible around the lodge. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the meals were fresh and tasty.

You can swim and snorkel in the sea, then step straight into the rainforest. The guides and lodge staff know an extraordinary amount about the wildlife and clearly respect it. This part of southern Costa Rica is less touristy, so the atmosphere is lovely and relaxed. Amazing staff and a wonderful spot. I can’t recommend it enough!
