Hotel Los Ríos

Brazini made the best Mojito we've ever had, with fresh mint and lime in just the right balance. She's a fantastic storyteller and a brilliant cocktail maker. Her Chiliguaro also has a great kick. Pub Los Rios is tucked away, but absolutely worth a visit. It has that warm Costa Rican charm. When we wanted a classic beer, Brazini quickly brought an ice-cold Pilsen with a glass of ice, just right. This place serves pure, unfiltered pura vida mae. Highly recommend, five stars don't cover it.

We were passing through and needed a room for one night. The rooms were simple but very clean, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. It was nice to unwind after the long drive, with the restaurant and bar open until 10 pm.

We were stressed and exhausted after a landslide made us miss the last bus to Tortuguero, so we had to book somewhere at the last minute. The hotel staff found us a good deal, and seeing the property took our worries away. Our rooms were sparkling clean and seemed newly renovated. The pool looked gorgeous at night and was just the right temperature for floating around for a couple of hours. The restaurant and bar staff were friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was included and made to order, with unlimited coffee or juice. We wished we hadn't been in such a rush to get to Tortuguero, since we could have stayed longer.

The restaurant was fine, with good food and service, and the AC worked well. But Room 116 was filthy. The walls were dirty, the lamps were full of dead bugs, there was an old soap bar in the shower, and there was no hot water. Apparently, that's normal. I wouldn't stay in Room 116 again. Other customers say this is one of the best hotels in the area, which makes me kind of scared to try somewhere else.
