Villas Argan - Paradise Gateway

Playa Hermosa is a beautiful beach, and these villas are a nice place to stay a few minutes from ST. Just know they’re not in Santa Teresa itself, so you’ll want somewhere closer if being in town matters. I visited in rainy season and was glad to have the AC. My villa could have been cleaner, but I still had a great stay. Since the guests across from me were often out, it felt like I had the pool to myself.

We were sorry to leave. The beach is close by, with soft sand, good waves for surfing or jumping in, and lots of hermit crabs to spot around sunset. Our villa was really comfortable, with a big downstairs bed and an enormous one upstairs, plus nice loungers and a sofa outside. It had lots of lovely touches, and the garden and villas are clearly well cared for. We also loved the semi-private pool, especially since the guests in the villa opposite were out so often. Cafe couleur nearby does excellent breakfasts.

The internet was out for three days, along with a backed-up toilet and a toaster that didn’t work. But the worst part was construction on three sides of the property. We woke every day to hammering and metal grinding, and workers right behind the transparent fence by our pool could see our children changing. Management said they couldn’t control the neighbors, which is fair, but they could have told us about all the work before we booked. Instead, they offered 10 percent off, which felt like a joke for a trip where we couldn’t relax. The listing now says my review isn’t truthful. There were hardly any people on-site besides security for the first two days, so they may not have noticed the internet outage then. They still haven’t taken responsibility for not disclosing the surrounding construction, and saying afterward that we could have found somewhere else to stay is ridiculous. A great atmosphere, with small apartments sharing a pool in a garden setting, plus an exclusive Villa with its own private pool. The beach is just 200 meters away.
