Fuego del Sol Beachfront Hotel

We felt very safe here, and the free parking on site was a bonus. The rooms are simple and basic, but large enough for what you need. Ours had a comfortable king bed, strong A/C, and a hot shower. We spent most of our time outside anyway. The beach is clean, right outside the room, and doesn't require water shoes. You can sit and listen to the waves whenever you like. The pool was clean and pleasantly warm, and the on-site restaurant and bar were fantastic, with some of the best food around at very fair prices. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

It felt like paradise here, with palms, hammocks, macaws overhead, and the beach right there. We had a great casado, the classic Costa Rican dish, at the restaurant. The staff were so friendly and the service was excellent. We'll definitely return, highly recommend.

We had beautiful sunsets right from the hotel beach every day. Playa Hermosa goes on and on, with quiet black volcanic sand, and the pool was lovely and very warm. It's a small hotel with clean rooms, good breakfast, and really friendly staff. The Hotel Manager was especially attentive and helped arrange for us to move to a second-floor room. I'd happily recommend it to my friends. Thanks for having us!

I've been staying here since 1995, back when it was called Hotel David. A Swiss guy built it, so the construction is a little better than most of what you see around here. It's a small place, around 20 to 25 rooms, right on the beach. Not a fancy resort, but it's all I need, and I've always liked it.
