Hotel Club Del Mar

The strongest points were the food and the team. The seafood was especially good, and we thought the hotel food was the best in Jacó. Staff from reception through the restaurant were polite, attentive, and focused on guests. They were also great at arranging tours. Our main issue was housekeeping. They made the beds and changed the towels, but didn’t mop the floors well. The shower’s hot water was unreliable, sometimes hot, sometimes only a little warm or even cold. The black volcanic sand beach is simply a natural feature you have to accept. Despite the cleaning and shower problems, the service and food make this hotel an easy recommendation.

The staff were warm and personable, and the service was outstanding. We had a phenomenal stay in April 2026. Our room and the amenities were consistently clean, and the food was delicious, especially breakfast, which was my favourite. The location worked well, too. We could walk along the beach or take a $5 Uber to try the restaurants in downtown Jaco. I’d stay again!

We were staying in a rental house across the road from Club Del Mar, right by the busy Highway, so we needed an Uber to get into Jaco proper for shopping or restaurants. Club Del Mar was a lovely spot to walk over to for drinks, meals, and spa treats. Even though we weren’t staying guests, everyone was pleasant and accommodating. One of the owners came by our table to welcome us personally, which was a nice touch. It’s small but quality-oriented throughout, and I’ll consider booking there in the future.

We’ve been back four times in four years. The resort is fabulous, with great food, very clean rooms, and fantastic service. It’s just far enough from town that we need a ride to shop or see things, though that’s no issue if you have a car.
