I had a local book some rooms for our team of 22. The manager was very nice, and the cooks and restaurant owner were great. But for an American, this was only a little better than a hostel. Maybe it’s okay if you’re local. The beds had only sheets and were extremely hard. The shower was a joke: the temperature swung from very hot to cold. Some bathrooms had broken glass panes, and we stuffed dirty clothes into the gaps to keep mosquitoes from getting in. Only the main front building had hot water. The back rooms didn’t. Air conditioning worked well in some rooms, but not others. At night, the music from the clubs was loud enough to hear without going there, booming until 1, 2, or 3 a.m. You’ll need earplugs to sleep. The pool wasn’t very big or deep, and I wouldn’t let my family swim in it. It looked dirty at first, as if the filter wasn’t working. By day three it was dark green, and on day five it had lost the color but the water still wasn’t clear. There was a strong chlorine smell. There was sex trafficking in the area. After dark, they started renting the back rooms to women and men who needed a room. The garbage truck also came in around 5-5:30 a.m. This is not a place to bring a family.

There’s plenty to do nearby, and the staff are great. The private beach entrance has a shower. I’ve been back several times and have lots of good memories here.

A nice place with a wonderful pool and beach access. The air conditioning worked great, and the staff were nice. The Wi-Fi could be stronger, and the bed could be more comfortable, but I still slept well.
