La Paloma Blanca by Lost Beach

The location is great and the staff are amazing, but the residents were the problem for us. We'd visited with family in the off season and had a good time, but last weekend, when many owners were there, the place felt like a retirement community where people were territorial and controlling. At the pool, our kids were just being kids, diving for toys and laughing, and got eye rolls. If my four-year-old cried or got too excited, that was a problem too. On the second day, as we came into the social area, we heard people loudly talking about my family. They spoke English as I passed, assuming I wouldn't understand because I'm Latina. We'd only spent 20 to 30 minutes in that area since arriving at Paloma Blanca. We stayed four days and felt very uncomfortable with the anti-children atmosphere. We know other families with kids who've visited at this time of year and had similar experiences.

We were comfortable letting our teenagers hang around the property or stay there briefly while we went out. Unit B3 had everything we needed, felt comfortable, and had a great view of the surf. The grounds were well kept and the staff were friendly. It's a short walk into town, with several good restaurants nearby. I'd happily stay here again.

This is a lovely spot for families, with beautiful, well-maintained units near the beach. There's a small local beachfront restaurant about 50 feet from the gate, and the beach is that close too. This is really a family place, so it's not suitable if you're looking to party with the local talent. Tip: take the beach to get back to the shops on the strip. For the road, a taxi is best.

The condo and property are beautifully kept, and the ocean view, sunset, and pool make it easy to relax in a very quiet setting. The beach is a two-minute walk away, while the busy city center is a two-minute drive.
