Ola Bonita BeachFront Apart Hotel

We came to Ola Bonita in Playa Hermosa for four nights and ended up staying on and off for two months. It feels like home in Hermosa Beach now. Johanna took such warm, caring care of us from the moment we arrived, and made the stay unforgettable. The room was stunning, especially that ocean view we never got tired of. We also loved the clean, cozy beach-house feel and the spot right on the beach, with the pool and local dining close by. Ola Bonita exceeded our expectations. We can’t wait to return. Thanks to Johanna and the whole team for making it so special!

We arrived at the agreed time, but the room wasn’t ready. The person in charge ignored our call, then hung up after telling us to cancel if we weren’t happy. She called us back and hung up on us again. The service and customer care were terrible. We went to find somewhere else. Don’t go, they’ll mistreat you.

The beach is right outside, the pool area is nice, and we had the best view of all the rooms. It was quiet enough to fall asleep to the sound of the waves, the A/C worked perfectly, and the room looked lovely. The price was great, and I’d definitely recommend staying here. A few things could be better: there’s little lighting unless you open the blinds, no outlets near the bed, and bring your own hair dryer and shower products. We had ours, luckily. At night we often heard what seemed like a mouse in the wall. Edit: I didn’t realize the noises were bats!

We’ve stayed twice and love it here. You can step from the room to the pool, then walk a little farther to the beach. It’s hard to get closer to the water, and the location and atmosphere are incredible. The staff are great too. Keep in mind this is an affordable boutique hotel in a jungle paradise, not a Marriott or Hilton in a major US city. If you want warm ocean water and wildlife right nearby, you’ll love it. If you’re after TV and a ritzy hotel bar, go somewhere else. We’ll be back!
