I stayed at an Airbnb nearby. It’s close enough to Playa Hermosa and Jaco Beach to reach by taxi or car, but far enough away to enjoy a quieter side of vacation. I felt safe in the area, though watch out when walking along the main streets, since cars and buses swing around the corner. There’s also a small mom-and-pop shop just up the street.

My husband, our two boys, and I stayed in one of the Villas in March 2017, and we loved it. We were there for four nights. The villa and pool were well cared for, and the walk to the waterfall was fun. The owners stayed responsive and offered suggestions for adventures and day trips. I hope we can come back someday!

It wasn’t quite what was advertised, but it was still nice.
