Surf Inn Hermosa

After coming to Playa Hermosa for surf trips since 98, I finally stayed here last June. I had planned a last-minute trip, then learned a week or so before leaving that the place I'd rented for years had become long-term rentals. I contacted Christina and she found me a room. I was super stoked. The rooms were really clean, the property well maintained, and parking was good. It's right in front of one of the best breaks in Hermosa. The restaurant next door had really tasty food and drinks. Surf Inn's customer service is outstanding, and everyone is incredibly friendly and helpful. Christina and Marisol are absolutely amazing. They've got hot water too, a real bonus in Hermosa after surfing two or three seshes a day. I'll be back in a month, and my room is booked.

I've been going for about 10 years, ever since I first got there at 17, and this place has always felt magical to me. If you surf, this local hotel is a hidden gem. The locals are awesome, the waves never disappoint, and the owners and staff have hearts of gold. I've never once felt anything here but happy. If we didn't come at least once a year, I'd have a hole in my heart.

The staff and owner, Christina, made me feel welcome and looked after throughout my three weeks in Costa Rica this January. I was traveling alone, so feeling at home meant a lot. The rooms and facilities were clean and well cared for, and everyone was keen to help. The surf right out front is unbelievable. I had a great time at Surf Inn Hermosa and will be back. My third-floor room at Surf Inn Hermosa was huge, right by the ocean, and had a private balcony for watching both sunrise and sunset. Three beachfront restaurants nearby were handy for lunch and watching the surfers. Christina could also arrange excursions if you asked. I booked the Surf and Yoga Package while traveling alone, and I'm so glad I did. Christina, the owner and manager, was amazing from beginning to end and made me feel like her only client. She tailored each day's breakfast and dinner to what I liked, and showed me local places for sushi and Costa Rican food, plus a beach bar where we watched the Super Bowl. Yoga classes with different teachers took place around town, from the oceanfront to a peaceful jungle studio. Oscar was a terrific surf instructor, and by the end I was catching waves on my own. I'm already planning a return trip.
