I had a Volcano View room and it was fantastic. The hotel is centrally located, just a short walk from the Bogarín Trail, and the property seems to have been renovated recently. I booked directly through the website, where payment is taken one week before check-in. Right after I paid, I got another email asking for an additional $20 per night because of peak season pricing, saying the rates had been adjusted after I made the reservation. They also offered to put the credit toward a downgrade in room type. I wish the extra charge had been explained more clearly up front, especially for direct bookings. I haven’t experienced this with OTAs.

The welcome from reception was really great, and everything was so clean and modern. This is the best hostel I’ve had in Costa Rica so far. It’s actually a hotel with dormitories and feels like a high rate hotel. It’s cheap too, so if you’re traveling on a low budget and in LF, don’t hesitate.

Our room had a view of the Vulcano, just awesome. The hotel was very clean, and the receptionists were super nice. Breakfast was simple but good, and we were close to the main restaurants.

The location made it easy to enjoy our vacation, close to the Arenal volcano and also near supermarkets, restaurants, bars, and lots of attractions in the small but beautiful Latin American town of LA Fortuna. Ask for one of the new rooms, they’re nice. The hotel Arenal by Regina was a wonderful surprise for us. Its affordable price was a plus, but the best part was the people. Rocio, Kevin and Alan managed the place so well and helped us in every way they could. Everything was easy, our vacation ran smoothly, and we got to enjoy it all. Thanks again!

The rooms were very noisy, and the scooter rental company was unreliable. Ms. Rocio was unfriendly.
