The location and price worked well for my three-night stay, and I had no real problems. They let me check in early, the room and bed were clean, and it was usually quiet by about 10:30 at night. The shower was missing its head and drained slowly, though it was still fine for a quick wash. Service was good. I’d stay here again.

It was quiet, but the hotel feels dated. The rooms are very small, with an old CRT television, and the bathroom is tiny too.

The location in Liberia is excellent, and the beds were very clean. It’s a basic hotel, though there was no hot water or air conditioning.

The room had air conditioning, and everything was clean and put together well. It covered the basics: a bed and a bathroom. The showers only had cold water, but in that hot weather it actually felt great. No complaints from me.

The staff made me feel welcome even though I don’t speak or understand Spanish. Everyone was wonderful and greeted me with a genuine smile, and I’ll remember Sofia for a long time. I spent eight days here, September 15 through 22, in room 1 right beside reception. The hotel is truly home-like and offers the basics at a fair price. I’ve worked as a hotelier, including 12 years as Director of Human Resources at Bangladesh’s biggest hotel from 1981 to 1993. I’ve traveled widely, to 44 countries before Costa Rica, my 45th. Wishing the hotel all the best. PURA VIDA!
