The two sets of cabins were worlds apart. On my first stay, in the cabins across from the restaurant, I had a comfortable bed, hot water, and a pool. This time they put me in the cabins beside the restaurant: no hot water, cat shit around the pool, and the bed came apart in the middle of the night.

For $40, I had a two-bed room in a safe little town with a nice soda down the street. After traveling in the rainy season, this oasis did the job for me as a solo backpacking chica heading to cocovado. It isn't luxurious, but I was pleased.

We got into Palmar Norte around 9pm and found this place three blocks from the bus station. It's small, but well organized, and we felt safe and comfortable. The beds were comfortable too, and the owner was kind and attentive.

The pool is small, but it's a nice spot to relax. The bungalows are pleasant and right in town, with clean rooms, good wifi, and hot water. It was relaxing and not expensive.
