We weren’t sure what to expect when we joined this trip on my sister-in-law’s recommendation, but we had such a good time that part of me wants to keep the place to ourselves. It’s a real jungle stay, full of wildlife, with excellent surf nearby and uncrowded fishing. The food and service were outstanding. My wife is vegan, and the kitchen made her delicious choices every night. The mango gazpacho was amazing. The owners made a point of spending time with guests, and we met some lovely people during our stay. We’ll be back. Thanks Mike, Katie, Jordan, Leah, Emerzon, Nacho, and Christina!

The rainforest setting is the first thing you notice, and several beaches are only a short walk away. Staff were helpful and genuinely friendly, always ready to answer questions and make the stay as good as possible. We ate very well, with generous portions. Between surfing, jungle walks, and spotting all the wildlife, there’s plenty to do. Encanta La Vida is a wonderful lodge.

I’ve been coming back for years for the mix of jungle and beach, and I still love this lodge. There’s wildlife everywhere, plus hiking, surfing, time by the pool, and really good meals. Recent upgrades have brought a new level of low-key comfort and luxury. It’s a standout option for solo travelers, families, or groups.

The scenery here is incredible, and the plant and animal life is hard to believe. We had an unbelievable experience. The food and drinks were great too. While you’re there, take a trip with Colio Sport Fishing. On a charter, you may see monkeys and Scarlet macaws on land, then catch giant fish from several species in the same day.

Nacho at the Resturant really went above and beyond, way past what I expected. I was so impressed by the atmosphere and the food. This place brings a lot of comfort to a very remote, primitive part of Costa Rica. I highly recommend it.
