Hacienda Mil Bellezas

The communal dinner setup was a highlight: everyone shared one big table beneath an old roof, making it easy to chat with other guests about the day and nearby things to do. Marcus also made a different fresh fruit juice each morning, and the pets were adorable. We stayed three nights on our honeymoon, and this was the best accommodation of the trip. There are only a few cabins, with a special view over the jungle. Around the property, we found trails leading to viewpoints and waterfalls, as well as a river with natural pools.

We only came for the hiking trail and natural pools, which cost $10, and didn’t stay in a room. We loved being out in nature, and having the place to ourselves made it feel even more special. It really felt like paradise 🤗

We stayed four nights and could easily have stayed longer. The kids loved it, we loved it, and Markus has built an amazing place. He’s a helpful, knowledgeable host. They enjoyed swimming in the little creek by the waterfall, and we spotted lots of poison dart frogs. The pool was great too. The staff were really friendly, and the property is stunning. From the minute we arrived, everything felt relaxed. The hacienda has all you need and more. Wow, what a time.

A romantic hideaway for people who love nature. This is where my partner asked me to marry them, and it was the perfect place for such a special moment. The Rio Damas swimming holes are the most beautiful sight I’ve ever seen. I came for the land, and it delivered: trails to hike, creeks to walk along, and waterfalls in every direction. We walked a different trail each day and found new animals every time. Make sure you know about the local critters. There are species ID books in the dining hall, and it’s worth photographing the trail map before heading out. Some routes are marked, while others are hidden gems. The host, Markus, deserves a mention. He speaks several languages, which helped us feel welcome. Breakfast was fresh each morning. I’d suggest the typical meal: rice and beans, scrambled eggs, delicious cheese, and a handmade tortilla. The staff were polite, helpful, and hardworking. I could gush about this place all day, but I don’t want the secret getting out.
