Hotel Playa Bejuco

We came for our anniversary this weekend. It was pretty quiet, with plenty of wildlife and nature around. The food and customer service were great. The bedroom had very little room for personal belongings, the curtains were full of humidity, and the pool towels looked old and damaged. They should be thrown out. Given what we paid, I guess there’s only so much to expect.

The food was good, and the young man at the front desk was kind enough to offer an umbrella when we got soaked in the heavy rain. But the older bartender had a nasty attitude and mean look. He told me, rudely, not to sit near the bar because he had a big reservation coming and nobody uses those tables when we were there. Later, when someone else from the hotel let my husband borrow a towel so I could dry off a bit because I was freezing and didn’t want to get sick, the bartender was rude to us again. His service made us not want to return to the restaurant.

We were at Playa Bejuco last weekend for a friend's wedding. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helped us with something important even after we’d checked out. We highly recommend them. Our one regret is that we didn’t get to spend any time in Playa Bejuco’s beautiful pool.

The pool was the best part, and Bejuco beach is close by and lovely. The rooms, though, are really dated, with musty old panel boards, chipped woodwork, and curtains that are too short or missing completely. Staff were nice and clearly used to unhappy guests, with signs plainly saying no refunds. At breakfast most tables were dirty and hadn’t been cleared. I’d stay and eat somewhere else. It’s just not worth it.
