Mariner Inn

The team here makes you feel so welcome, and there’s a pool and a nice outdoor area as well. The food at Scooters, the bar above the inn, was all incredible. They smoke their own pork and brisket right on the deck. I can’t recommend this place enough!

We’re down to our last two days and wish we’d found this place sooner. It’s such a good price for the area, and Max was really friendly and helpful. There’s a great bar and pool above our room. Our fridge kept our drinks cold enough, and the room TV has both Spanish and English options. Highly recommend.

The veggie pasta made my vegetarian wife very happy. We also had very good service, and the patio has a nice view in a relaxed, family-friendly setting. The food is great for the price compared with other places right nearby.

The drinks were the best we had on our trip. The mojito tasted fresh and minty without bits of mint ending up in the straw, and the margarita had just the right tequila balance without being too sweet. Even if you can’t stay for dinner, I’d stop in for a cocktail. We ate on the rooftop one night while staying at Flamingo Beach. The food was fresh and seemed to have a more traditional Costa Rican flavor. We especially liked the pineapple ceviche. The mains were nice, though a bit short on flavor for my taste. Maybe that’s just how Costa Ricans eat. The manager was courteous.
