I booked an apartment with free cancellation, but a few days later the condo charged me even though the terms didn’t require an advance payment. When I cancelled, I got confirmation that the fee was $0, yet no money came back. I tried reaching the owners without a reply. Booking.com Customer Support contacted them at my request, and they said they had already sent the refund. More than a month later, I still hadn’t received it. Be careful, this feels like a scam.

We paid $280 a night for five nights, then the guy charged us $190, saying we had broken a toilet seat and a cabinet. We hadn’t broken either. The seat looked as old as the place, and I mentioned it to him on day two. The dishwasher also didn’t work for our whole stay. We never even used or opened the bathroom cabinet he said we damaged.
