Occidental Papagayo - Adults Only

The entertainment crew was friendly and knew how to create a fun atmosphere, though I found the music too loud at times and would have appreciated some quiet periods. The staff throughout were lovely, helpful, and genuine, and the food and service were excellent, especially the local dishes made with care. Occidental Papagayo sits on a hillside, with a spectacular view from the foyer. The landscaping feels like a beautiful park, and the pools are gorgeous and large enough for swimming laps. The beach is picturesque, though not the best I've seen, and the water can be a bit rough. There are a lot of stairs, which could be difficult for anyone with mobility issues. I greatly enjoyed my stay and will return.

We have so many ways to keep busy here. We kayaked this morning for free, and have also joined water aerobics, water volleyball, water polo, Zumba, and archery. The resort is clean and comfortable, and we're having a great holiday so far. The staff really make the experience fun. The entertainment crew has been wonderful, especially Paul, and the wait staff are so friendly. Jill even remembered my daughter's and my drink order at lunch halfway through our stay, despite all the guests coming through. Those little personal touches make a big difference.

I especially liked the hillside setting and the sea views, along with the varied terrain. We stayed for a week at Occidental Papagayo in a lovely waterfront suite. Two weeks before arrival, I asked for a particular building, and Cinthya communicated very well and made it happen. The food was good, though not outstanding, and the menus had variety and could accommodate dietary needs. Room service was very good. Antonio was the best server, and Gabriella at the premium bar was our favorite bartender. She was always smiling and gave us some much-needed Spanish lessons. The drinks there were delicious. I'd recommend this resort for a relaxing trip, especially for the price. Pura Vida!

The views were stunning, the weather was beautiful, and the food at every restaurant was very good. We kept finding things to do, including kayaking, archery, and volleyball. The employees were all kind and fun, and made us feel included and welcome. Hillary, Katherine, yasniri, and paul treated us like family. I'd suggest giving this resort a try.
