We were working during our stay, and the coworking setup was really well thought out: a main work area, private meeting rooms, and outdoor spots on balconies looking over the beach. The hotel sits on one of Puerto Viejo’s prettiest beaches, and walking into town along the shore was easy. It felt like paradise. We often saw monkeys with their babies in the trees, and the staff showed us where the resident sloths were. Playa Cocles is also a short walk away, with beachside dinners and places to swim or surf during the day. We stayed in a lovely two-bedroom apartment. Under the new management, Cecilia, @LunaCanbena, and the whole team made us feel at home. Everyone was so welcoming, and nothing felt like too much trouble.

We meant to stay one night, but ended up adding another. The people working there were so nice, and it’s easy to walk to both town and the beach. Would definitely recommend.

With the new management, the owner and his wife were such special people, always ready to help with anything we needed or any problem that came up. The place is beautiful and right by the beach. Breakfast was great, with yogurt and fruit, pancakes, and gallo pinto. Choose Agapi if you want to enjoy your stay in Puerto Viejo!
