The wildlife and Jorge’s guided outings were a real highlight. He was knowledgeable and took us horseback riding, ziplining, kayaking, monkey spotting, and on a sea turtle expedition. We also loved the zip-lining, kayaking, turtle trip, and spa treatments, so there was plenty to do. The resort is surrounded by lush greenery, with stunning ocean views and magical sunsets, and the restaurant meals were delicious. Staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Special thanks to Gerald, Mario, Jorge, and the rest of the team. Punta Islita exceeded our expectations.

The people were warm and welcoming, and we always felt safe. Islita is an adorable little town, and we saw hotel staff working there too. The hotel food was very good, and there are plenty of activities in the area. Just be ready for the steep hill and lots of steps. Our first room was near the bottom, so without a car you’ll get your steps in or need to ask for a ride. We visited in Feb 2025 with another couple. They had the honeymoon suite, which was very nice, while we were in a two-bedroom villa with an ocean view. The room seemed untouched since it was built. The mattresses were about 2 inches thick over slats, more like a cot than a bed, the fixtures looked 20+ years old, and it needed a deep clean. Our “ocean view” mostly faced a local cell tower, though we could see the ocean from the patio when standing up. I contacted the manager after the first night, and they moved us to a much smaller room that was a great improvement. Other reviews mention this problem too, so check the room’s condition before booking if you can, or be prepared. The location and beach area are beautiful, but some rooms are long overdue for remodeling.

I spent two nights here on my own and had a wonderful time. The staff were incredibly kind and knew me by name. I saw lots of wildlife and had an amazing aromatherapy massage on the beach. The fresh juices were incredible too. Peaceful, tranquil, gorgeous views, just a top notch resort experience.

We had a relaxing, fun-filled day at Punta Islita resort after driving there from Samara on a local’s advice. The $70 day pass gave us access to amazing facilities, and the food and service were just as good. They treated us like royalty, remembered our names, and brought drinks and food right to our lounge chairs throughout the day. The view was spectacular, and we even spotted a Macaw. The ocean looked inviting, but the waves were deceptively large and tossed us around a little.
