Eco Granja Sostenible Don Lolo

We went for a morning walk and got to see the dairy, gardens, and plant nursery. It was a lovely surprise to find Don Lolos while we were in the area for a wedding, and I’d return in a heartbeat. The hospitality was incredible, with every employee and owner friendly and caring. Our suite had a spacious bed and bathroom, plus a fridge and coffee-making supplies. The patio felt like a private tree house overlooking trees full of all kinds of birds. What a delight.

The cabins are high up in the mountains and the setting is beautiful, with lush forest and great restaurant views. The food is good, but the signage could be clearer because it was a bit hard to find. I can tell the owners care about the place, and small changes would make the cabins much more comfortable. They’re tiny, not soundproof, and you hear the rain. The two-person cabin is especially small, and there are only three cabins. It can still get warm up there, so a fan would help since there’s no AC. A lamp by the bed and a ceiling light with a fan would be useful. The bed frame should be changed because it can cause bruised toes. The coffee setup is cute, though I’d rather have a lamp, and there was no sugar or milk for the coffee.

The little private cabin worked perfectly for two, with a comfortable bed and views of Quesada and the jungle from the porch. The restaurant had a wide range of food, a full bar, and generous portions with excellent taste. Service was friendly and helpful, and most staff spoke both languages. I highly recommend this family-run Farm to Table place, and will come back when I’m in the area.

A quiet place with amazing views and lots of birds. The family who run it are so nice, and they speak English. The organic farm-to-table restaurant feels gourmet, with reasonable prices for meals and staying overnight in the cabins.
