Flying Crocodile

We had delicious breakfast and dinner, and owner Emma suggested places to visit and even booked us a trip to see turtles coming ashore to lay eggs. The hotel is cute, with lots of attention to detail. Around the pool there are different places to relax, the water is refreshing, and you may spot wild animals nearby. Highly recommended.

Emma is a phenomenal host, and everything from the service to our room and the hotel itself was lovely. Breakfast was generous and delicious. We stayed three nights and will definitely return. The only thing that could be better is the WiFi, though our phones worked fine for staying connected. Highly recommend!

We liked the unusual house and the views from our room, and the location just outside the town center was great. But the power went out in the middle of the night, before or around 2 a.m., and there was no WiFi in the rooms, only in the main lobby, which meant walking outside in the dark. The room got very hot without a fan or AC, even with the windows open. We told management in the morning. They said they’d compensate us, then removed the charge for two dinner glasses of wine, perhaps about $10 each. That felt inadequate, especially since the owner said at breakfast that she might give a room away free to arriving guests if they couldn’t reschedule or get the power line fixed. We also didn’t think the dinner at $20 per person was worth it, having already traveled around CR for a few days. There’s a 10-minute walk to two of the most beautiful hidden beaches we saw.

The owner was so sweet and accommodating. She even connected us with a nearby mechanic to check our rental car and called a restaurant owner to book us a table. We really appreciated how far she went to help, and breakfast was delicious. The property itself is cute, and our unique room was clean with AC. I spotted a coffee maker but there was no coffee. The handheld showerhead could attach to the wall, but that position sent water outside the shower, so you had to hold it. WiFi only worked in the main lounge by reception. It’s about a 35-minute drive to just about anywhere.
